The past few months are a blur of winding roads, clicking shutters and countless hotel bedrooms. From photographing flowers and cookbooks to documenting epic (in feeling and sometimes scale) weddings, making portraits of eccentric characters in patterned homes, the precarious piling of pottery, craft books, seaside sculpture installations, construction sites and a few more portraits for good measure. I am used to such varied subjects but not always in quick succession.
I catch myself finding solace in small details. the quiet sublime delivers these moments to give them a little more weight in the world and to bring the peripheral into focus. There is power in the peripheral, sanctuary in the small and other such alliterations.
Collected moments that would otherwise disappear into the instagram stories abyss… (you can read about that via Alice’s post here.)
