The chill of ice cold waters blanketed in a thick white fog; skin red, heart racing. Thick clumps of dock, grasses, seed heads and trying to match a floral subject with peeling wallpaper. Fried egg of daffodil, fluffs of green, yellow and white.
A pause for a snail, a ladybird, a cloud.
Borrowing corners from friends and setting makeshift tables in the middle of nowhere surrounded by heather and golden light - WhatsApp messages the next day reporting our midge bites. Dazzling orange, ruby and rust, lighting candles, and being entranced by steaming elderberry. Two years of shooting, countless micro seasons (and mugs of tea/coffee/orange wine), scattered petals, silent focus and putting the world to rights.
Very. Precarious. Balancing. Of. Stems.
